Preliminary Reports Presented in 2008:
Read the report of Bargmann, Hendrie + Archetype, Inc. dated October 7, 2008. This report analyzes the Harwood site, and shows a possible siting diagram and floor plan for the SCC. "Green" building characteristics and water management approaches are discussed.
Read the report of Bargmann, Hendrie + Archetype, Inc. dated September 10, 2008. This report compares 21 characteristics of three potential sites for the SCC: the Outdoor Pool, the Leaf Transfer site and the Harwood site. New information received since the August 1 report shows a smaller wetlands in the Harwood area making building in this area feasible. In addition, Bargmann noted that this site together with the High School and the Library create a community center that offers opportunities for shared programming, synergy of programming and shared parking. The site is centrally located within Scarsdale and is accessed near a signalized intersection.
Read the letter of Bargmann, Hendrie + Archetype, Inc. dated August 1, 2008. This letter recommended eliminating the Freightway lot as a potential site for the SCC.
The study, undertaken by Scarsdale Village staff, of nine potential sites for locating the SCC is dated June 5, 2007. The sites deemed most favorable in this report were further evaluated in the Bargmann studies listed above.
